Job description

The Manager, Financial Planning and Analysisis responsible for managing and enhancing various financial processes, collaborating with departments to ensure adherence to budgets, and providing valuable insights for informed decision making. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a smaller, innovative and nimble team putting to use attention to detail, desire to collaborate and financial planning and accounting skills on our Corporate Finance team.

The candidate will work for a rapidly growing renewable energy company headquartered in San Diego which seeks an innovative, focused, and motivated leader to start a team of professionals doing commercial modeling of projects and deal structures.

Remote candidates will be considered, but preference will be given to candidates who live in or can relocate to San Diego area, CA.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial planning and analysis or a related role.
  • Expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with financial analysis software such as Power BI and Tableau, Sage-Intacct.
  • Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Experience in Sage Intacct, Power BI, Tableau or other Analysis software.
  • Self-motivated with a high level of initiative and accountability.
  • Ownership of workflows to meet deadlines and budgets.
  • Excellent written and oral communication and organizational skills.
  • Strong cross-cultural relationship building.
  • Flexible and cooperative with a well-developed team spirit.

Responsibilities

  • Participation in the development of long-term financial plans and forecasts.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Develop financial plans, forecasts, and budgets with each departmental stakeholder.
  • Collaborate with department heads to complete and update departmental budgets.
  • Enforce budget adherence and provide guidance on spending.
  • Assist in producing accurate and timely financial reports.
  • Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Responsible for regular progress reporting including written and oral status updates as required to various stakeholders.
  • Provide analytical insights that aid in strategic decision-making.
